Lamine Yamal stunning bending shot for Spain. French goalkeeper Mikel Merino sees where Yamal’s bending shot is going, into the upper right corner, but can’t get a touch on it.
The Yamal goal versus France is one you’re going to want to put on a loop. Watching it once just isn’t enough.
This was UNREAL from 16-year-old Lamine Yamal 😱😱

French midfielder Adrien Rabiot had some comments about Lamine Yamal prior to the game: “If Lamine wants to play in the final he will have to do more things than he has done so far.” Well, what did you think of Yamal’s stunning shot into the upper corner, Rabiot?
Funny enough, it is Rabiot who is defending Yamal on this play. Yamal drags the soccer ball to the right and then back to the left and Rabiot can’t keep up with the quick feet of Yamal. It all happens in the blink of an eye. The ball is in the back of the net before Rabiot can even try to block it.
A goal for Spanish history. Spanish fans won’t forget Yamal’s incredible bending shot versus France in the 2024 Euro tournament.
The 16-year-old certainly would make Rabiot regret what he said about Yamal. The stunner of a goal is just unreal for any player to score, but for a sixteen year old it is amazing.
Yamal becomes the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Euros, at 16 years old. Additionally, Yamal is the now the youngest player to win the man of the match award at the Euros. Before the Yamal stunning bend goal, he was the youngest player to record an assist in the Euros. What will he do in the Euro final? What record will he break?
After the game, Yamal says: “Speak now, speak now!”, to the cameras when celebrating Spain’s win. I guess the Rabiot comment really did motivate Yamal.
Again, credit to Barcelona for letting Yamal just be himself. Letting him dribble and run at defenders. Barcelona’s coaching staff did not stifle his joy of playing football. That is clearly evident when you watch Yamal play soccer. It is as Messi said recently, let young kids play with joy and dribble at defenders:
“The Guardiola era has caused a bit of confusion. Everyone wants to play like that now,” the forward said. “They tell six, seven-year-olds to play with two touches, quickly. At that age, what happened with me needs to happen for these kids… we shouldn’t take away their spontaneity.”
France, via a Kylian Mpappe cross to Randal Kolo Muani, scored in the eighth minute. The Yamal stunning bending shot flipped the game in favor of Spain. Gave them a shot of adrenaline in a way. For brief moment it seemed that France would win the game easily after scoring so early on.
