Marta scores an incredible goal after a long dribbling run. At 38 years old, Marta is not done yet and shows why she is the greatest women’s soccer player of all time. Marta has won FIFA World Player of the Year 6 times (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2018) — the most by any player, male or female. Marta will play in the NWSL final, which is a fitting way to end her pro soccer career.
Watch the Marta goal after a long dribbling run in the video below. Really, what is incredible, is Marta’s fake shot. She’s driving with the ball at her foot like she’s going to shoot, and then two defenders catch up to her, only to get suckered into the fake shot.
Marta is simply magical🪄

Marta has scored 40 goals in 118 games for Orlando. This Marta goal is one of her best. Moreover, it comes in the semi finals of the NWSL playoffs. The Orlando Pride would move on to the NWSL final with a 3-2 win versus the Kansas City Current.
Here is an overhead view of the Marta goal. There will never be too many angles of this Marta goal.
This angle of Marta’s goal is insane! 🤩

It is a lost art in a way, how often do you see players dribble more than five yards? How often do you see a player dribble 20 yards? How often do you see a player dribble 30? It’s too rare these days in soccer.
So that’s why it was brilliant to see Marta attack the space on the dribble and draw the defenders in with a fake shot. The two defenders collapsed after trying to block the phantom shot by Marta. Hang it in the Louvre, as they say. I can’t wait to see what Art But Make It Sports does with the photo of the defenders on the ground.
But Marta had to beat the goalkeeper with one more dribble. After the fake shot, Marta cleverly slipped the ball to her left foot and goes past the keeper to score. It all seems so easy to her.
It is extraordinary to have Marta, Messi, and Ronaldo, playing at the same time. All winding down their soccer careers. Looking back at the last fifteen years of soccer, both for women’s and men’s, it has been exceptional. And these three players have been key to its elevation.
It says a lot about Marta that she has led this Orlando team to become one of the best in the league. Especially in light of the fact that she was unable to play in the Olympic finals due to a red card. You could see what the goal meant to her in her celebration. What a relief it was to score a Marta like goal for Marta.
