Raphinha whips in a perfect free kick to score for Brazil versus Colombia. The Colombian keeper Camilo Vargas gets a touch on the ball but Raphinha hit it with too much power.
The Raphinha free kick was the first goal from a direct free kick in the 2024 Copa America tournament. Raphinha couldn’t have struck the free kick any better. The Colombian players in the wall tried to jump pretty high to block the shot but Raphinha bent the ball high enough to avoid them.
Watch the spectacular Raphinha goal in the video below. It is a free kick that Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo would have been proud to have scored.
In the 12th minute from about 25 yards out, Raphinha scores a beauty of a goal for Brazil.

Barcelona’s winger Raphinha might just become a key figure in the Brazilian attack. Overall, he is deadly when going after defenders on the wing but now has shown his free kick scoring ability. The Brazilian coach will have a hard time leaving Raphinha off the starting roster.
Moreover, Raphina is really in his prime as a footballer. He is just 27 years old. He’s spent time playing in France for Rennes, in Portugal for Sporting CP, in England for Leeds, and now has seemed to settle in at Barcelona. He has scored a total of 20 goals and 25 assists in 87 games for Barcelona. His ability to dance on the soccer ball reminds you somewhat of Ronaldinho at times. However, what with Barcelona’s financial troubles, they may try to sell Raphinha.
Interestingly, from the New York Times, Ronaldinho said he will not watch Brazil at Copa America, claiming the current national team “lack everything.” I hope Ronaldinho saw this Raphinha free kick golazo!
In the 59 minute versus Colombia, Raphinha had a free kick in a similar spot on the field but struck it just wide. He tried to whip the ball to the far post this time. Although he misses, it wasn’t too far off.
