Robinho – Make the Difference

Update: Robinho scores for Santos

It’s really a shame Robinho had to leave the English Premier League. But he was genius at times and then at others, he seemed like he was afraid of getting kicked, hit or didn’t want to get involved in the game. Maybe a lot of it had to do with being unsettled, and not knowing if he was going to stay at Manchester City. However, there’s no doubt Robinho is an amazing soccer player, it’s just a wonder if he’ll be ranked up with the elite players of Brazil after his so so run in England.

Now that he knows what lies ahead, and he’s back in Brazil, perhaps he’ll be ready to shine in the World Cup. And it looks like that’s what he’s hoping too. In the video below he sure gives a lot of thumbs ups when he’s talking. Can he back all that up? Will he be happy at Santos and make the Brazilian side for the World Cup? Who knows.

From Nike Soccer: Not every footballer gets to return to his old club in a helicopter with an icon of the game, but Robinho’s homecoming was all about focus: “I have come here to win trophies and get in the Brazil squad.” With the start of the Brazilian cup days away, and South Africa on the horizon, Robinho will look to make good on his promise.

Robinho also does a little singing and rapping when he is presented to the Santos fans along with Brazilian legend and perhaps the greatest footballer ever, Pele.
