Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross finds the head of Luis Diaz, who puts Liverpool in front versus Tottenham Hotspurs. The way the soccer ball is whipped in by Alexander-Arnold makes it easy for Diaz to head the ball home.
Alexander-Arnold is the best crosser of the soccer ball since David Beckham. I think Beckham would even agree with that. Don’t forget that quick corner kick he did he was ago.
Furthermore, he’s clearly the best right back in the world right now. Moreover, it is no wonder even bigger teams than Liverpool want to sign him.
Watch the cross by Alexander-Arnold to Diaz in the video below. Every professional soccer team needs a player who can cross the ball like this. However, those who can are few and far between. Alexander-Arnold put this cross on a dime for Luis Diaz on Liverpool’s first goal.

At times, there’s been a question of what the best position is for Alexander-Arnold. For instance, he played centrally for England a few times. However, while he can play diagonal balls from Central midfield in behind with precision, he’s better he’s better suited out wide to whip the ball in.
Also, if he plays centrally, his weakest attribute of his defending is more exposed. He gets a more cover if he’s playing out wide. Still, when facing a quality winger, he sometimes struggles and loses his positioning.
Stats from TNT Sports: “Trent Alexander-Arnold provided an assist, completed 7 long balls and created 4 chances against Spurs. He also made 7 clearances, won 3 tackles, 3 duels and registered 3 interceptions. The complete right-back performance.”
The worry for Liverpool fans is they could be letting Trent Alexander-Arnold leave the club on a free transfer in the summer. A majority of Liverpool’s faithful fans want him to stay or at least get a good return on such a quality player.
Overall, Alexander-Arnold’s ability to cross the ball is unique. Given a few seconds of time or space, he can pick out a player at the back post like no other.
Finally, here are some stats from Sky Sports: “He has made the most progressive passes of any player in the Premier League this season – 205 of them – and his average pass distance is 19.1 metres, which is longer than any other Liverpool outfield player.”
