Dejan Stankovic’s amazing goal against Roma. Amazing goals on the volley I should say. You almost come to expect them from Stankovic these days. As only just a few weeks ago he beat the keeper with a first time volley from half field in a Champions League match. Even when he played for Chelsea some years ago he’d score incredible goals off the volley.
In the video below, against Roma, Stankovic rips the soccer ball on the volley and bends it into the upper corner. He makes it look easy. He strikes through the ball with the laces and follows through towards the outside, so the ball bends nicely into the goal. Stankovic get all of it, putting an almost Roberto Carlos like spin on the ball as he rips it with the outside of his foot.
