Celebrity Soccer FansIn the United States, where soccer is a niche sport, the stars come out when the big European soccer clubs come to Hollywood in the summer. At the Rose Bowl recently, when Inter Milan played Chelsea, there were a host of celebrities wearing Inter and Chelsea jerseys and taking in what might be their first soccer match ever. It wasn’t like a Lakers game, but in attendance were the likes of Charlize Theron, Alyssa Milano, Will Ferrell, and Ashton Kutcher. Are Charlize and Alyssa potential WAGS? Let’s hope so. What a joy it must be though for professional soccer players to come to the United States and see such big crowds and movie stars dotting the stadium. Upwards of 65,000 showed up to see the Seattle Sounders play Chelsea and then close to 90,000 for the game in Los Angeles between Inter and Chelsea. But who are some of the other celebrites who have become at least part-time soccer fans. Let’s take a look.
