Cristiano Ronaldo added another remarkable goal to his tally in Portugal’s 5-1 win over Poland with a bicycle kick. This brings Ronaldo’s career goal total to an amazing 910 goals in 1251 games, along with 256 assists. Yes, while Ronaldo always wants to score, he will pass the ball to his teammates from time to time! To say he is an incredible goal score is an understatement. As soccer fans, we certainly take him for granted.
Ronaldo scored a bicycle kick goal against Juventus when he played for Real Madrid about five or six years ago. Italian fans stood and cheered Ronaldo’s amazing goal.
However, while this bicycle kick versus Poland might not be as impressive, you have to consider that he’s nearly 40 years old now.
Overall, with his consistency and dedication, reaching the 1,000-goal milestone feels destined to happen. Yet realistically, that would mean Ronaldo would need to play for another three or four years. Furthermore, the caveat here is that he remains relatively injury free.
But, knowing Ronaldo, he will want to achieve this thousand goal target no matter what. Fortunately, like Lionel Messi, he has avoided serious knee injuries and the like. Which has enabled him to have such a long soccer career. This goes to both players taking care of their bodies and eating healthy.
Moreover, Ronaldo will want to make every attempt to play in the 2026 World Cup in the United States. Also, I do wonder if Ronaldo tries to play in the MLS in the coming years before the World Cup takes place. If he finds the right team in the MLS, he could play much like Luis Suarez has been for inter Miami, where he hovers more around the goal area.
Additionally, he would probably have to take on a role of more a super sub. But that would enable him to be fresh and score more goals – as the defense is already worn out when he takes the field. He’d have to come to grips with and accept that type of role, which maybe he could as he reaches age 40.
