So, not everyone will be selected to train at La Masia, but you can go to a Barcelona soccer camp. That you can do for sure. There’s nothing stopping you. Very, very few are going to get selected to attend Barcelona’s soccer academy, La Masia, the famed soccer school where Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Pique, and Busquets grew up playing. That’s like winning the lottery. But you can improve upon those slim chances by attending the Barcelona soccer camp in the United States. And there is the chance, an actual chance, that a Barcelona coach might just like the way you play at the soccer camp. Sure, it’s a small chance but it’s a chance. And someday, perhaps, you could be playing at the Camp Nou in front of 90,000 fans. You never know, it’s a long shot but it could happen. There’s nothing wrong with having a dream, right? And you don’t have to make it to La Masia, if you make strides and improve your game there’s a chance you can earn a college soccer scholarship when you’re older or maybe play in the MLS. Or, there’s a chance you’ll improve enough to make the top local club team in your area or the state team or even the regional team or even the national team.
The idea is to just get better and improve. And, the idea is to have a goal and a dream. It’s sort of like the idea of reaching for the stars, the top level, but even if you don’t make it there, to Barcelona’s La Masia academy, you’re going to get a lot better and be rewarded for it in the long run. Plus, at the Barcelona soccer camps you’ll learn not just the basics of soccer so you can successfully face up to the sporting challenges you might face in the future, but also the values that represent FC Barcelona: tolerance, respect, solidarity, comradeship, citizenship and integration. These are life lessons that will help you even after your done playing soccer. Obviously, Lionel Messi is an outstanding soccer player, the best in the world, but he’s also very humble and focused not on himself, and winning personal awards or honors, but the team, and the team winning trophies. This is something he’s learned from his early days at Barcelona along with all the dribbling and passing skills.
And there are two Barcelona soccer camps to choose from, one suited for every soccer player, which is geared toward all skill levels from 6-16, and the Elite FC Barcelona camp, which is geared towards above average players. This elite camp is conducted exclusively by FC Barcelona coaches. However, going to a Barcelona soccer camp isn’t going to all of a sudden make you an incredible player. No, you’ll need to take what you learn at the camp and practice those skills on your own. What the soccer camp will do right away though is give you confidence. Since you’ll be surrounded by quality players and coaches. Often, all it takes is some encouragement from a coach to help you reach that next level. A bit of confidence to take players on and make that killer pass. Again though, if you’re not putting in the time on your own, working on your skills in your backyard or at the park, you won’t reach that next level. If you can make it to one of these cities listed below summer, do it. Dream big, you never know what might happen. And, there’s no doubt you’ll get better and learn some valuable lessons that will help you not only on the soccer field but in life after soccer.
