Barcelona beat Sevilla 5-0 in the Copa Del Rey, with Iniesta grabbing one of those five goals. But at the end of the game Iniesta came out of the game with a few minutes left to a standing ovation and he was moved to tears and crying on the bench as they chanted his name.
Iniesta is probably leaving Barcelona after the season and headed to China for the well deserved big paycheck. So this was just another one of Iniesta’s last games in a Barcelona shirt. It will be strange to watch Barcelona without Iniesta in the future. Even the Sevilla fans applauded Iniesta has he left the pitch.
New: See Iniesta’s shielding skills and his favorite move. Even though Iniesta is skinny he’s strong on the soccer ball.
What must that feeling be like, to have over 90,000 fans chant your name as you leave the field? What must it be like to have had so much success playing for Barcelona and then have to leave as you get older and new young players come along? Yes, Iniesta could play a few more years, but perhaps it’s best he leaves the Camp Nou and Barcelona on top.
Wonderful ovation for Andres Iniesta from both sets of fans. #FinalCopa pic.twitter.com/yZiMpcuDVU
