Anyone looking to sharpen their shooting skills should take a look at the MLS leading scorer. After eleven games of the 2022 season, FC Dallas striker Jesus Ferreira has found the net on no fewer than nine occasions.
That’s a seriously impressive return for a 21-year-old who is starting to deliver on some huge potential. So how does Ferreira do it and just how far can the USMNT attacker go? Let’s see if we can figure out just how Ferreira is scoring so many goals and if that goal scoring can translate to the United States national team in the World Cup in Qatar.

Ferreira in Numbers
The MLS scoring stats for 2022 put Jesus Ferreira some way ahead of the chasing pack. Those nine goals leave him two in front of Jesus Jimenez and Sebastian Drussi at this early stage of the season.
This is already his best return in any MLS campaign. Prior to this season, Ferreira’s best tally came in 2019 and 2021 when he scored eight goals for his Dallas side.
At the age of just 21, we can hardly say that the player is a late developer. However, this does underline how an attacker can mature and it’s a good lesson in perseverance for any youngster.
Jesus Ferreira will also be hoping that his record at international level will improve. In nine games for USMNT to date, the Dallas man has found the net on three occasions.
Two of those strikes came early on in his career. Ferreira doubled up in January 2021 in the United States’ 7-0 demolition of Trinidad and Tobago. While some of those nine appearances have come from the substitutes’ bench, it’s a record that could be improved.
Jesus Driving Dallas
While Jesus Ferreira has been the shining start for FC Dallas this season, his teammates have responded. After those first 11 games of the new campaign, the Dallas franchise sat in a healthy second place in MLS’ Western Conference.
It may be early days but Head Coach Nico Estevez’s team are already targeting a playoff place at the end of the regular season. That target is within their reach, even if Dallas aren’t widely tipped for MLS glory.
Current MLS Cup betting puts Los Angeles FC way in front at the head of the market. Sportsbook linked to Sbo.net also have Philadelphia Union, LA Galaxy, New England Revolution and New York City FC among the likely challengers.
But what about FC Dallas? Despite that strong start, the ‘Burn’ are mere 13th favorites to win the MLS Cup in 2022. Perhaps a few more wins and some high scoring displays from Jesus Ferreira will help to shorten those odds.
If there are any updates, Sbo.net will publish these as they come in. Readers may also keep up with breaking news articles and read hundreds of reviews of safe betting sites while they’re here.
If any of those sites are appealing, it’s also possible to get involved with the markets. Each sportsbook mentioned is on hand to accept new customers and there are welcome packages on completion of a safe and secure sign up. A selection of funding methods can get the account moving while effective customer service can provide assistance during registration and beyond.
Once onboard, other benefits may include mobile betting via an app, ongoing promos and the potential for live streaming soccer from across the world. FC Dallas may be the outsiders in those markets but Jesus Ferreira may yet help them to defy the odds.
Jesus Ferriera’s Style of Play
Jesus Ferreira has been described as a coach’s dream. His versatility is partly behind that assessment and we shouldn’t forget that he can play in a number of areas across the pitch. He has pace, a quick burst of speed from a standing start and an ability to read situations that can give an attacker an advantage over the opposition defense.
Unusually for a striker, Ferreira’s stats prove that he also has a great work rate. He averages at around 25 pressures and 22 tackles/interceptions per game and those are rare numbers for an attacking player.
Those statistics underline the qualities needed to succeed at the top level. Whether he can inspire FC Dallas to MLS Cup success remains to be seen but the skills displayed by Jesus Ferreira this season should act as a template for any aspiring young player.
Jesús Ferreira took 10 minutes to complete his first career hat trick against the Portland Timbers.
