I don’t know what you really call this Lucas Vazquez move, really. It’s a pass with the inside part of his heel but he first uses the heel of his other foot to play the ball backwards.
Someone online said it was a FIFA glitch, which seems about right. It is like a video game move. It’s a clever move by Vazquez and one that I haven’t seen before and certainly not pulled off in a game for his country. The Real Madrid star is looking to make an impact in the World Cup for Spain this summer.
In a way, I’ve seen this soccer trick done before, but usually you hit the ball directly off your other foot with the heel to make the pass. Here it seems like Vazquez hits the ball back with his heel first and then hits the ball with the inside/heel part of his other foot. Hard to tell though since it all happens so fast. It’s nice to see a soccer trick pulled off in a real game though, well a friendly match but still.
I used to be a bit opposed to doing all these soccer tricks or moves that you never pull off in a game, but you can, as Vazquez shows you, and it also leads to other skills or tricks. If it gets kids more interested in mastering the soccer ball then I’m all for doing soccer tricks in training.
