Colorado Rapids

Colorado Rapids Soccer Club

Established on October 17, 1995, as one of Major League Soccer’s ten charter clubs, the Colorado Rapids have achieved success both on and off the field, including the team’s first MLS Cup championship in 2010. A leading local organization, the Rapids have participated in countless initiatives and causes, and annually raise tens of thousands of dollars for Kroenke Sports Charities, which supports underserved children and families in Colorado through educational and recreational programs, as well as appearances, donations, and service gifts.

The extensive Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club also provides opportunities for children to develop as players and people in a challenging, supportive, and safe environment. Based at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, a world-class facility with an 18,000 seat soccer-specific stadium and a 24-field sports complex, the Rapids are a part of Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, owned and governed by E. Stanley Kroenke.

On February 9, 2007, the Rapids announced a commercial alliance agreement with English Premier League club Arsenal Football Club. The establishment of the Arsenal Center of Excellence at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and the development of the Arsenal Cup, an annual youth tournament open to American club teams, highlight the alliance, which includes a combination of commercial and marketing efforts, along with an exchange of best practices in the Rapids’ first-ever club-to-club relationship. The Rapids may conduct a portion of their preseason training at Arsenal’s training ground each year.
