Pulisic’s Favorite Goal

What is Christian Pulisic’s favorite goal he’s ever scored? Well, he’s only 26 years old, but he has scored a lot of goals in his professional soccer gear so far. Pulisic’s favorite goal comes during his time in England playing for Chelsea.

Pulisic scores Chelsea’s first goal against Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League Semi-Finals. Pulisic called this one of his favorite goals he has ever scored in the Paramount+ documentary.

Fundamentally, he liked this goal because it was a goal scored in the Champions League semifinal, and just how calm he was to collect the ball, and dribble around the goalkeeper. The goal comes in the early stages of the game, just 13 minutes in. Pulisic shows incredible patience, to almost pause for a second after controlling the ball. Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is almost too tall to try to stay with Pulisic as he dribbles away with the soccer ball.

Unfortunately, this goal comes during Covid, so the stands are pretty much empty. Either way though, Chelsea and Pulisic would go on to win the Champions League title versus Manchester City.

Overall, people talk about how Pulisic wasn’t successful at Chelsea. However, if you watch the Pulisic documentary on Paramount+ you can see he scored numerous goals for the club and big ones too. Moreover, he nearly scored in the Champions League final. His shot going just wide off the post.

Finally, Pulisic said that if people say he flopped at Chelsea, he just shows them his Champions League medal. As far as stats go, Pulisic played in 145 games for Chelsea and scored 26 goals and notched 21 assists. That’s a very successful effort by Pulisic. Especially considering all of the managers he had at Chelsea.

There will be some pressure on Pulisic as the World Cup takes place in the United States. There are higher expectations on him and the team in general. He may have to take over games at times and demand the soccer ball. That is what the United States national team needs from him. And that’s what world-class soccer players do for their teams.
