Kroos put on a passing accuracy masterclass against Scotland. Kroos sets the record for the best pass completion rate by a player who has attempted over 100 passes in a one game at the Euros since 1980.

Toni Kroos went a perfect 55/55 on passes in the first half. He followed it with 46/47 in the second half. He only missed one pass in the entire game.
Furthermore, Kroos ended up creating 4 chances and 34 final third passes completed. So while Kroos is certainly a possession and passing king, his passes do lead to goal scoring chances. Remember the Kroos on a plate pass to Vinicius Junior? Kroos passing accuracy is pinpoint.
If you watch Kroos play, he is always ready to make the next pass before the ball comes to him. His body position is always set up so he can protect and shield the soccer ball but find the player who is open as well. It is about moving into the right position to receive the ball and knowing what you want to do with the ball next. Kroos does this and is therefore a passing master.
Even when he is falling down Kroos still gets the soccer ball where he wants it to go. This cross field pass led to Germany’s first goal of the Euro tournament.
Moreover, with the Euro tournament taking place in Germany they will have the fan support to push them perhaps to the final.
Winning this first game certainly helps boost their confidence as a team. Germany have struggled in tournaments the past few cycles. With a player like Kroos in your side, someone so calm on the ball, it will help going forward in the Euro 2024 tournament.
It will be interesting to see what passing accuracy Toni Kroos ends up with when the tournament is over. Kroos received a standing ovation as he walked off the field.
I wonder if Kroos will rethink his retirement from the game after the tournament. The German manager might try to convince him to keep playing. Germany have won the last four games with Kroos in the lineup. Kroos passing accuracy and steadiness might make Germany and Real Madrid try to get him to play beyond his 34 years. With Kroos passing accuracy versus Scotland he showed he’s still got it.

Kroos finished with a 94% pass completion rate in his 463 games with Real Madrid. Amazing passing accuracy by Kroos over a long period of time, too.
