MLS players on the verge of going overseas or at least we hope so. We’ve got a couple wildcards on the list and of course one U.S. keeper (as they’re always sought after), but if there’s a name that should be on this list, let us know.
Landon Donovan (LA Galaxy)– Back to Europe on loan after the MLS season, should he stay or go? I think he has to go at this stage in his career if he wants to play at the highest level.
Justin Mapp (Chicago) – High hopes were placed on this clever player but has had to endure injuries this year and missed out on U.S national team call ups.
Sacha Kljestan (Chivas) – Starting for the U.S. national team now.
Pablo Mastroeni (Colorado) – Wants to make a go for it before it’s too late.
Kenny Cooper (Dallas) – Back to the EPL and to play against his former youth team, Manchester United?
Brian Ching (Houston) – He’s much like Brian McBride, solid, consistent and scores goals. Why can’t he play in Europe?
Robbie Rogers (Columbus) – Blazing speed and his team is having a marvelous year so far.
Edson Buddle (LA Galaxy) – Has scored a lot of goals. At least he’s earned a U.S. national team call up.
Matt Reis (New England) – U.S. keepers are always wanted.
Stuart Holden (Houston) – U.S. Olympic standout who might not be strong enough to make the transition, maybe in a year or two. He has the talent though. At times he scores some wonderful goals.
Ricardo Clark (Houston) – Quick, strong, and getting better and better on the ball.
Nate Jaqua (Houston) – Size and good foot skills. Will he head back? Houston probably would like him stay.
Brandon McDonald (LA Galaxy) – A wildcard play. I think Ruud Gullit liked this player and may help find a team for him.
Michael Parkhurst (New England) – Might have hurt his chances with a poor performance in China. Couldn’t handle the Nigerian forwards.
Shalrie Joseph (New England) – Deserves a shot but age is now too big a factor.
Dane Richards (New York) – Lightening speed and he’s still young.
Ryan Johnson (San Jose) – He’s a beast and a brusier, an all around handful for defenders – he’s strong and good in the air.
Arturo Alvarez (San Jose) – Don’t know if he’s there yet, needs to score more goals, but still young. Not sure if he’s got the speed.
Marvell Wynne (Toronto) – Very young and had a good run in China. His speed is unmatched but skills on the ball not on par just yet.
