Highlights: Argentina Versus Venezuela

In Diego Maradona’s first game as head coach, Argentina tear apart Venezuela with goals from Messi, Tevez, Maxi and Aguero. The team that must be the early favorite to win the World Cup in 2010, makes the game look very easy. With Maradona’s blessing, Messi dons the number 10 in the game for the first time, and shows why he should wear it. Aguero, the son-in-law of Diego, even brought his son on to the field before the game.

In what has been a rather extraordinaire life already, Diego now has the chance to win the World Cup as a coach, which is pretty amazing considering the life he’s already led. The Washington Post has some good pictures of Diego from years past, the good, the bad and the ugly, so to speak. From his World Cup win in Mexico to his struggle with weight and drug addiction to a shot of him on an Italian dancing with the stars.

It will be interesting to see how the next year or so takes shape, with Diego at the helm, with Messi becoming perhaps one of the greatest players of all time, with all the pressure soon to be placed on Argentina to win, with Spain surging. Plenty to look forward to, as this is just the qualification stage. For now, take a look at the classy Argentine side.
