With this goal comes I’m sure a lot of relief and a ton of confidence going forward for Michael Bradley at Borussia Moenchengladbach. Much like Jozy getting his first goal for Villarreal, it’s a huge boost of confidence for a player starting out with a new club, especially trying to make it as a pro soccer player in Europe.
But Bradley, unlike Jozy, looks set to have a key role at his new club, and this goal is proof that he deserves it. What a joy it must be to come into a new club and get a big goal against one of the top clubs in the world, Bayern Munich. Could we see Donovan going up against Bradley the next time they face one another? Let’s hope so. Here’s some highlights and a few goals he scored while playing for Borussia: I love how the team tackles Bradley after he scores and you can hear the roar of the crowd. Must be an amazing feeling to score a goal like this. The goal came in the 80th minute and secured the draw for Borussia, 2-2. Who did Bradley play for when he was in the MLS? The New York Red Bulls, a team that is the surprise finalist in the MLS Cup. Bradley scores a lot of goals with his head, and for this reason I thought he was taller than he is. At 6 feet 1 inches he’s bigger than your average soccer player but not a giant. The kid (he’s just 21 years old) just knows how to play the game and get into positions to score. He’s a tenacious player and a guy you want on your team. |
