Eddie Gaven Plays Keeper

Eddie Gaven Plays Keeper

This has to go down as one of the most interesting and unbelieveable endings to an MLS game. Eddie Gaven comes in as a goalkeeper, Tim Howard makes an awesome save, and within in minutes Gaven scores the golden goal winner, circa MetroStars vs DC United, 2003. This is back when there were no Red Bulls just Metro Stars.

But this is even more interesting in that Bob Bradley is wheeling and dealing in the game as the head coach of New York, showing his wisdom before he became U.S. National team coach. Tim Howard actually playing in the MLS (seems like so long ago). And then Eddie Gaven, at just 16 years old, scoring an amazing game winning goal (he might have to replay this video to remind himself of what he’s capable of, these days he’s not shining so bright).
