Wanted to give you a few simple translations of some key soccer / football terms that you might hear on Gol TV or one of your other favorite Latin stations.  If you have other phrases you’d like to mention, please send them our way. There’s no better way to learn Spanish than watching the beautiful game.

• Tiro libre – free kick
• Cabesaso – header
• Centro – center
• Tarjeta amarrila – yellow card
• Tarjet roja – red card
• Tiro de esquina – corner kick
• Baja bien – good control
• Tacito – heel pass
• La pared – the wall
• Regalato – gifted penalty
• Mano de dios – hand of God
