Stuart Holden Re-Injures Knee Against Panama

Sadly, Stuart Holden injured his knee again playing in the Gold Cup final versus Panama. It was an odd play, as Holden appeared to knock knees with the defender but actually hurt his other knee, the same knee that he’s had problems with for over 2 years.

It’s been a very, very tough road for Holden, who broke is leg, then tore his ACL, and then had other issues with the knee after surgery. Hopefully the MRI shows that it was just a sprain and he’ll be back playing again right away, but the pain on Holden’s face after the injury and sitting on the bench make it seem like something serious may have happened to his knee once again.

Update: Holden tore his ACL and will be out for at least a year.
