MLS 2022 favorites
So, which teams are in a good position for the title this year? Let’s look at the favorite players this year!
Top goal scorer
A key prediction fans are starting to make is the league’s top goal scorer. While many professional soccer players are great scorers, they can’t all be the best.
The current favorite for top goal scorer is Jesus Ferreira at +500, but Sebastian Driussi closely follows him at +800 and Jeremy Ebobisse at +900.
Can underdog Valentin Castellanos beat the +1400 odds before the season is over? His goals are powering NYC FC, so we’ll be watching him closely. Keep an eye on this category as the league progresses.
Another key category to explore is outright winners. We’re already looking towards the end of the season, even though it’s set to finish in October. Here’s what we’re predicting so far.
The odds for the outright winner currently favor New York City FC at +450. This Eastern team is most likely to win the title, but Los Angeles FC is second in line with a close +500. It seems like the current race is between these two. Los Angeles FC is currently at the top of the Western Conference with 29 points, whereas New York City FC holds the Eastern Conference with 26 points.
Who else has a chance at the title?
The team with the third-best odds is the Philadelphia Union at +850. Last year, this team was the conference finalist, but will they be able to hold the spot again this year? Another contender is the Seattle Sounders at +1000, followed by the LA Galaxy team at +1400.
If you’re looking to bet on an underdog, we recommend the New England Revolution. Yes, this team had a disastrous start to the season, but their odds (+2000) are still better than many other clubs.
Final MLS Predictions thoughts
As the season continues, we expect close calls from many MLS teams. It seems like a tight race right now, but who knows? A few average games could leave NYC FC or LA FC in a challenging situation. It’s all to play for!
