Pulisic Brutally Kicked by Carrasquilla

Pulsiic is brutally kicked

Pulsiic brutally kicked in the back of the leg by Panama’s Adalberto Carrasquilla. Straight red card for the Panamanian after an insane tackle on Pulisic. Just a vicious kick from behind on Pulisic as Carrasquilla winds up and kicks him.

But good that the brutal foul on Pulisic didn’t end up in a brawl of some kind between the two teams.

Throughout the game Carrasquilla was probably one of Panama’s most effective and calmest players. He continuously played short and simple passes to help Panama keep possession.

However, in a rush of blood to the head, he seems to have lost it and strikes out at Pulisic after the U.S. takes a quick free kick.

Moreover, it was an odd moment to react like that. Carrasquilla fouls Pulisic by kicking him in the back of the leg in the 88th minute. They are winning the game. Pulisic wasn’t on a breakaway.

Also, Panama was in control of the game for the most part. He’ll now miss the next game or more. Plus, he is a key player for his country.

It is just a crazy tackle on Pulisic. Really, Carrasquilla should get more than just a one game ban. Pulisic could have been seriously injured on this play.

Additionally, a sign Carrasquilla knows he should get a red card is how quickly he turns around and wags his finger saying no to referee Iván Cisneros.

It is not often you see a brutal foul like this in world soccer. Thankfully Pulisic wasn’t injured. He did bounce right up though and bump Carrasquilla with his shoulder. It wasn’t enough retaliation though to warrant a card.

Panama would win the game 2-1. The United States now might have to win against Uruguay to go through to the next round. Uruguay is in top form and won’t roll over easily even if they are already through. After the game, Pulisic said they will need to play “the game of our lives” against Uruguay.
