But Manchester City’s goalkeeper comes out big and strong and cuts off a lot of the angles for Salah. Instead of passing the ball low and into the corner, he skies it. Furthermore, not scoring a clear chance like this, the question always becomes will it haunt them? Will the miss hinder their chances of winning the game.
What is interesting about the miss by Salah, is it once again reinforces the idea of forgetting your mistakes in soccer.
Especially as a striker, where it doesn’t matter if you miss four clear chances, as long as you get the fifth one of those to go in. And Salah shows his fearlessness in stepping up to take the penalty kick later in the game and scores.
