Come along for the journey as a few hundred of the bravest Americans venture south of the border to watch the YANKS play behind enemy lines.
Part III With only 4 games remaining in World Cup Qualifying, the U.S. National Team must defend its home soil against a desperate El Salvador squad. Join thousands of America’s most dedicated supporters as they congregate in the Wasatch Mountains to watch the Yanks fight for a berth in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Part IV The Yanks now enter the crucial 3 game homestretch of the Qualifying journey for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Winning on the road in Qualifying is never easy, and the USA must travel to Trinidad and Honduras to earn much-needed road points in order to stay on top of the group. However, political turmoil engulfs Honduras just weeks before the USA – Honduras Qualifier, casting a dark shadow over a match with World Cup implications. 40 of the boldest U.S. Supporters made the voyage to San Pedro Sula to witness one of the most memorable games in USMNT history. ONE GOAL has the exclusive, never-before-seen footage of this memorable trip.
Part V In order to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the U.S. would have to win in Honduras, one of the hardest road environments in the Western hemisphere. With their nation’s government in a state of crisis, the Honduran people desperately needed their soccer team to win in order to qualify for their first World Cup in 28 years. Something would have to give in this epic showdown which was NOT broadcast in the United States. One Goal brings you the Game That Nobody Saw, except for the passionate few who made the trip down to San Pedro Sula to watch the United States make history.
Part VI After a 16 month Qualifying journey, the U.S. Men’s National Team’s road to South Africa made its final stop in Washington D.C. for the final qualifier against Costa Rica. For many Supporters, this was their last chance to see the Yanks play a meaningful game before the 2010 World Cup. While the U.S. had already clinched its berth in South Africa, Costa Rica and Honduras both needed a result to grab the 3rd and final spot to avoid a matchup with the 5th place team from CONMEBOL. What happened on this day was one of the most memorable finishes to CONCACAF Qualifying of all time.
