Mallorca’s Martin Valjent puts his arms behind his back immediately after getting beat by Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski to avoid a hand ball call on the shot. It doesn’t matter. Lewandowski still scores. Yes, it all happens very fast, but could Valjent done better and maybe blocked the shot if he wasn’t so intent on getting his arms behind is back and actually tried to stop and block Lewandowski’s shot?
When will players stop putting their arms behind their backs while defending? It just seems silly to me. And if you watch the video it seems like Valient might have blocked Lewandowski’s shot if his immediate response wasn’t to hinder his own movement by handcuffing himself with his arms behind his back.
