During the “friendly” soccer match between the United States and Brazil Jermaine Jones takes out Neymar near the sidelines with what you might call a horror tackle. Thankfully Neymar wasn’t hurt. Really, there’s no place for this kind of a tackle in soccer, especially in a friendly match. Jones got a yellow card but this could have easily been a red.
Perrin’s Horror Tackle On Kylian Mbappe After the game, U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann said he wanted his players to play a bit more nasty and step on some toes from time to time. I’m guessing Klinsmann forgot about this nasty tackle by Jermaine Jones. Sure, it’s good to play aggressive and tackle hard, but taking someone’s legs out from behind is just dangerous. And the game has to protect players like Neymar and Messi, who are just special and a joy to watch. When Neymar makes a visit out to LA don’t think he’s going to be looking up Jones to show him around town. |
