Is Danny Alves the best defender in the world? It’s up for debate, since his fellow Brazilan Maicon happens to be pretty decent too. But Alves is perhaps Barcelona’s tailsman, it’s his understanding with Messi that makes it hard for teams to stop them. His soccer intelligence is extremely high, especially for a defender. It is his give and goes with Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and the rest of the side that make him a nightmare for opposing defenses.
