The soccer ball pops out to Olmo, who controls it and then flicks the ball past French midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni into the space. That is the brilliance of this Olmo flick. That way he can strike the soccer ball on goal right away. There is no time for any French defender to get to him. And he doesn’t have to take another touch to setup the shot.

Moreover, Olmo juggling flick is done with such calm. It is the style of play that Olmo has shown all Euro tournament long. He has played in such an attacking style full of confidence. This goal, should only give Olmo much more confidence going into the final.
Due to Pedri getting injured versus Germany, Olmo has gotten more playing time and made his mark. Olmo has scored three goals and provided two assists at the Euros so far.
Soccer is that way at times. You might not be starting or playing as much as you’d like. Moments comes though where you get your chance to shine as it did here for Olmo. He has not wasted this opportunity in the least. If Yamal isn’t the player of the tournament it could be Olmo.
However, maybe it is the angle of the camera video, but it seems like French defender Jules Kounde could have blocked the shot from going in to the goal. Kounde is right there but can’t clear the ball with his right foot. But this is all happening incredibly fast, of course. Kounde tires to get back and block Olmo’s shot but it goes in anyway.
