Lodeiro Red Card Tackle

Lodeiro, the Uruguayan midfielder, who plays for Ajax in Holland, was the first soccer player in the 2010 World Cup to be red card for his challenge on France’s Bacary Sagna. Lodeiro, perhaps a little bit too excited, as he’s just 21 years old, was only on the soccer pitch for about ten minutes before he nearly split Sagna’s shin in two. Lodeiro is now playing for the Seattle Sounders in the MLS. Funny to look back at this tackle from so long ago, still not funny for Sagna’s shin though. Lodeiro knows it was a stupid tackle too but seems like the excitement of the game got the better of him.
