Messi Humilates Real Madrid’s Drenthe

Watch Lionel Messi humiliate Royston Drenthe in the video below. Don’t feel too bad Mr. Drenthe, Messi does it to nearly everyone on the football pitch. There’s a lot going on in the image above, almost like an old painting of some kind with hidden stories in it. Clear that the two teams don’t like one another.

But still, it does look pretty funny to see Drenthe get beaten so badly by Messi. Especially when Drenthe tries to mimic Cristiano Ronaldo and do a thousand step overs and then forgets the soccer ball. Messi recovers it and performs a series of amazing pull backs before dribbling off and then cutting back again on Drenthe just because he can. Take a look at the genius of Messi.

Messi gives to Drenthe a private lesson on how to manipulate with the football.

Drenthe and Messi have a bit of a history as well. At least from Drenthe’s standpoint. He accused Messi of being a racist. He didn’t like that Messi called him “negro”, which in Spanish means black and is commonly used in South America in a friendly manner, as I understand it. However, Drenthe thought Messi was saying it a negative way:

“You know what really bothers me? That tone with which he always called me ‘negro, negro’.

“I understand that it is very common in South America, but we cannot stand it. Mahamadou Diarra, my team-mate at Real Madrid, would explode when people called him a ‘negro’.

To me, I think Messi just cares about playing football and didn’t mean anything by it.

If you watch how Messi interacts with the black players on Barcelona you can tell he’s not racist and treats them the same as all of his other teammates. Again, I think Messi just loves to play soccer and win games.
