With Barcelona drawing to Almeria, Real Madrid had the chance to go top of La Liga for the first time this season. It looked like Real Madrid weren’t going to take advantage of Barcelona’s misstep as that went down early 2-0. It’s incredible how deadly silent the Bernabeu crowd gets when Sevilla scores. However, Real Madrid battled back, with goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Ramos. Ramos does a V for victory and nipple rubbing celebration, which was meant for someone but not sure who. The video below doesn’t show it, but saw it on Fox Soccer. In the end, it was the little used Dutch international Rafael Van der Vaart who got the game winner. Always good to see someone fight back and earn more time on the pitch with good play. Think Van der Vaart will get more minutes after his good play in this game.
Check out the fan at the 2:20 mark. Argentine forward Higuain looked good in the match, hitting the post twice and very unlucky not to score. I don’t know who has the tougher job, Dunga or Maradona, as they have to pick a World CUp team soon but have all these marvelous players to choose from. U.S. coach Bob Bradley on the other hand, is losing players left and right to injury. Heaven forbid, but if Donovan goes down, the team would be in dire straits. Don’t know the story behind this one…
