Martin Palermo Header From Forty Yards

Who says you can’t score a header from forty yards away? Palermo’s header for Boca Juniors looks to be a Guinness World record, it bounced just once before hitting the net. The goal was scored nearly from the half way line after the Velez keeper miss hit a clearance. The goal gave Boca Juniors’ a 3-2 victory over Velez Sarsfield.

Diego Maradona recently recalled the 35-year-old striker to the Argentine national team after a ten-year absence. Many saying this was a desperate move, but maybe this goal will give Palermo the confidence to help steer his country into the World Cup finals in South Africa. Somebody is going to have to. They are desperate.

Surely they will still qualify in the end though. Even if they end up in fifth place, they will have to play a CONCACF team, and should win, let’s just hope that team isn’t the United States.

This goal goes along well with Palermo’s half field goal he scored with his foot.
