Ruud van Nistelrooy Teaches Welbeck the Helicopter Spin Move

Ruud van Nistelrooy teaches a 12 year old Danny Welbeck the ‘Rollercoaster’ skill back in 2003. I’ve seen this move called the helicopter move more often and it’s really most known perhaps as the Zidane spin move.

What’s key though is how Ruud talks about moving on after making a mistake and just to keep trying and working hard. He says: The moment you make a mistake it’s over, you go on to the next one.

The trick for the helicopter move is to drag the defender away from the space you want to move into to.
