Highlights: United States Versus El Salvador

In what was a game the United States was expected to win, they nearly fell flat on their face.

But thanks to a warrior like effort from Frankie Hejduk, an injection of intensity from Torres, and a solid run of play by Ching, Dempsey, and Bradley, the US was able to pull two goals back and salvage a tie in what was a tough environment to play in.

El Salvador did all they could to hold on, the keeper went down with leg cramps on numerous occasions and was cheered loudly as he was carted off in a stretcher no less. Ching could have won the game in the end, but his shot went straight to the keeper.
