Savinho dribbling skills are of the highest order. If you’re a young soccer player learning how to take defenders on, there is no better player to model your game after than Manchester City’s new winger Savino. What a smart signing by Pep Guardiola. The Brazilian footballer has a tremendous change of pace and can dart one way or the other in a second.
What Savinho is so good at, like the best of dribblers, is going slow at defenders and then bursting away once they dive in or reach for the ball. It is this change of pace that sets him apart, and all the best dribblers in world football. Moreover, Savinho teases defenders and draws them in to making a mistake.

Interestingly, he is very much a younger version of another winger: Riyad Mahrez. Funny enough, Mahrez even appreciated Savinho’s Premier League debut against Chelsea when the season started. Joking on social media how much the two players were alike.
But you have to say Savinho might be even better at going at defenders with the soccer ball at his foot.
However, Mahrez scored 78 goals in his career with Manchester City. Savinho has shown he can create chances for other players, but has some work to do as far as scoring goals.
Savinho has looked up to Mahrez and took his number – from Man City News:
“It was always a dream to play like Riyad Mahrez. I’ve been asking Ederson Moraes how he was in training, how he played. He’d just say he was incredible, top. I always watched him back in Brazil, wanting to emulate how he played.
“I decided to take his Manchester City shirt because I want to carry on that legacy he left here. And yes, the tweet! So happy – and so were my family! I was a bit surprised to be honest.
“I sent him a message to say thank you. He replied and followed me on Instagram. It’s great he is watching and supporting me – and continuing to support Manchester City.”
Savinho was very upset when he was helped off the field versus Tottenham. Thankfully though he just sprained his ankle, and should return in a few weeks time if physical therapy goes well.
Finally, speaking of Savinho’s dribbling skills, this nutmeg by him has gone viral.
