Barcelona Youth Team Consoles Japanese Players

This is what soccer and competing is all about. While everyone wants to win, it’s not going to happen all the time. There’s always going to be a winner and a loser. Every player and team will experience both. So while clubs like Barcelona will win more games than they lose, the right thing to do is to show respect to teams you beat. This is sportsmanship. It’s clear that at La Masia Barcelona players not only learn how to play the Barcelona way but also how to treat opponents.

Barcelona’s youth team beat a Japanese team in the World Challenge Cup in Tokyo and after the match the Japanese players were in tears, so the Barcelona players tried to cheer them up.

One young Barcelona players seems to go to almost every Japanese player and gives them a hug and even a gentale slap on the cheek. I wonder what language he was speaking when consoling the Japanese players…?
