Jose Mourinho Leaves Chelsea

Can you believe it, Mourinho no longer the manager of Chelsea? Sacked. Left on his own. Mutual. So far there’s no clear cut reason why Mourinho has left the blues but it will pull some of the air out of the Chelsea club, or will it?  Chelsea are set to face their arch rivals this weekend – Manchester United.

Avram Grant will take over the Chelsea reigns.

Chelsea have struggled with a few injuries but maybe the special one has become too much of a fixture on the club and taking away from his team.  Their football has lost a bit of verve and excitement. Could be the pressure that Jose was under? They weren’t giving him enough control.  He wasn’t able to run the team how he wanted to.  He’s won two titles for Chelsea.

Time will tell. We’ll miss the special one though I’m sure he’ll land at a big club in no time.

Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho has left the club by mutual consent just six games into the Premier League season, the club said on Thursday.

“Chelsea Football Club and Jose Mourinho have agreed to part company today by mutual consent,” a statement posted on the club’s Web site (www.chelseafc.com) said.

But he is set to land a reported £20million pay-off as compensation for the remaining three years of his contract – worth around £6m a year.

Mourinho said: ‘I am very proud of my work in Chelsea Football Club and I think my decision in May 2004 to come to England was an excellent one.
