Former Barcelona Players Still Have Their Names on Lockers

It’s pretty amazing to see some of these famous Barcelona names still on the lockers in Barcelona’s dressing room, from Maradona to Ronaldo to Rivaldo. There have been quite a few soccer legends who have worn the Barcelona jersey. 60 Minutes did a story on Barcelona this Sunday. One interesting thing that stood out was when they toured the Barcelona locker room, Pique showed how they keep the names of former Barcelona players on the lockers.

Growing up, the Argentine soccer star says he “just wanted to have fun”. Messi talks to 60 Minutes reporter.

But these football / soccer players must have had to reach a certain number of games for Barcelona or done something special, right? They can’t have every player who’s ever worn a Barcelona shirt and used the locker with their name listed on it….the list would be too long.

Barcelona Players Still Have Their Names on Lockers

I wonder if Zlatan Ibrahimovic objects to his name being on his former Barcelona locker?

After all, things didn’t go that well for Ibrahimovic during his one year or so stint at Barcelona. It didn’t go that badly either, it’s not like Ibrahimovic played poorly, but he never really seemed to get along with Pep Guardiola.

And then there’s Diego Maradona’s name on what is now Gerard Pique’s locker. Shouldn’t this locker have gone to Lionel Messi? Heck, I’m surprised Pique didn’t slip in Shakira’s name on his locker.

Barcelona Names on Lockers

Soon Andres Iniesta, who is leaving Barcelona this year, will have his name permanently on a locker in the Camp Nou. That will be quite a locker to take over for a young player coming to Barcelona. Don’t think any midfielder will be as good as Iniesta or make the game look as easy.
