| There’s not much Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois could do, really, when he got caught like this by Charlie Adam of Stoke City. Charlie Adams sees the keeper out and from his own half rips the ball up and over the keepers head with his left foot. They’re calling this the goal of the year.
Courtois did get a hand to the ball but that wasn’t nearly enough – it even probably made it feel worse, knowing that he got a hand to the ball but couldn’t stop it. At least Courtois, the best goalkeeper in the world many say, didn’t hit his head on the post or anything when he was falling backwards in desperation to keep the ball out of the goal. Goalkeepers across the world sympathize with Courtois but maybe also laugh just a little bit.
