Nigel De Jong Breaks Hatem Ben Arfa’s LegDe Jong is at it again. He’s the same player who broke Stuart Holden’s leg prior to the World Cup in a friendly match. And he was also the player responsible for this crazy karate kick on Xabi Alonso in the World Cup final. De Jong has got to receive some kind of punishment or ban longer than just one or two games for this tackle. There was no red card given in the game but they’ve got to review this. A message has to be sent that players can’t recklessly and unnecessarily challenge players like this.
Update: Nigel de Jong has been cut from the Netherlands roster by coach Bert van Marwijk after the Manchester City midfielder broke an opponent’s leg with a tackle for the second time in seven months. |
