I don’t know what the keeper was thinking. He looks like he’s half asleep or actually just let the ball go in. He didn’t jump or even make any effort to tip the ball over the net. But, this shot was taken right from the kick off, so he was no doubt caught by surprise. For young players, it’s a good lesson, keepers always be ready and then field players, take some chances, don’t be afraid to take a shot at goal from long range.
From Yahoo Sports: Saudi striker Nawaf Al Abed has scored what newspapers in the Kingdom are claiming to be the fastest goal ever recorded in a professional football match, when he gave Al Hilal the lead after only two seconds. The incident took place in the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Cup match between Al Hilal and Al Shoalah. The goal was officially clocked at two seconds and the match eventually ended in a 4-0 win for Al Hilal. Al Abed spotted the Al Shoalah goalkeeper off his line straight from the kickoff and the 21-year-old striker tried his luck from the halfway line. |
