Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been on a tear of late, scoring goals and racking up assists for his country and for club team PSG – perhaps upset that he’s not talked about like Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi, when there’s a discussion of who’s the best soccer/footballer in the world.
But now, after this four goal tally versus England, even though it was a friendly, I think you have to say Ibrahimovic is one of the greatest football players in the world. There’s not doubt. He’s just too good at scoring goals.
What’s more, he scores amazing goals. Take a look at the videos below. And the fourth goal is surely his best, where his martial arts and karate training comes into good use. Henry Winter had this to say about the goal:
“That is one of the greatest goals I have ever seen. Zlatan has just scored a goal that defies physics and belief.”
See all four of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s versus England:
#1 Follows up his first shot that went off Gary Cahill. Not an easy finish as he sort of toe pokes the ball with his foot to the upper corner of the far post.
#2 Takes the ball on his chest and then scores on the volley. And then for good measure charges into Cahill.
#3 Beats Joe Hart from a free kick low and to the corner. Actually, it looks like the wall jumps and the shot goes under them. I guess they weren’t expecting that.
#4 Overhead bicycle kick from nearly forty yards away after Joe Hart tries to head the ball clear. Who else would try something like that? Goal of the year perhaps.
