While Piers Morgan says some crazy things from time to time, this one has to be up there near the top. The CNN anchor called the LA Galaxy a glorified pub football team on Twitter. It was in reference to David Beckham not being selected to the British Olympic squad.
I guess Morgan thinks that playing for the LA Galaxy and in the MLS isn’t good enough. Morgan is a diehard soccer/football fan, and supports Arsenal. He also appears on Fox Soccer from time to time.
I don’t think the MLS is going to let this one pass, though. I think they should bring Morgan out to a LA Galaxy practice and let him lace up his boots. I’m sure he’ll get the Gordon Ramsay treatment.
