St. Louis Lions

The USL allows eight (8) players over 23 and seven (7) foreign players on the club’s 26-man PDL roster (three (3) of which must be under 19), but the core of the Lions will be comprised of St. Louis talent under 23 years of age.

The Lions will be competing in the Heartland Division of the Central Conference against teams from Boulder CO, Springfield MO , Des Moines IA, Overland Park KS, Sioux Falls SD, and Thunder Bay ONT. For the 2007 season there will be 63 teams competing in the PDL throughout the US and Canada within four conferences (Central, Eastern, Southern and Western). Opening day for the Lions was on May 13, 2006.

The PDL provides top US and Canadian players under 23 years of age with the opportunity to compete in a "professional setting" during the summer months while maintaining their collegiate eligibility. The U23 design of the league was created with the goal of continuing the development of players as they transition from the youth to professional ranks, often times while attending college.

The road to USL’s Professional First Division starts at the PDL.
