Just a wonderful strike by Giovanni Van Bronckhorst – rips the soccer ball into the upper corner from way out, at least 30-40 yards from goal. Van Bronckhorst didn’t have any trouble smashing the new adidas Jabulani ball into the back of the net. Another candidate for goal of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. This is perfect shooting form. Strikes the soccer ball with his instep and follows through by landing on his non-shooting foot or planting foot. Just a great goal from a long ways out and a tough angle – surprised the keeper a bit too I’m sure.
Van Bronckhorst had this to say about his retirement from the game after the tournament: “The last game in my career and it’s a World Cup Final, what can you say? It could not be more beautiful. I hope it will be the most beautiful game of my life. For everyone, it will be the game of their life.” |
