Darion Asprilla’s Amazing Goal for the Portland Timbers

Darion Asprilla, who wasn’t supposed to start the Portland Timbers versus FC Dallas playoff match, scores a wicked goal to put the Timbers up 2-0.

Asprilla replaced Rodney Wallace in the starting lineup who I believe was suspended due to yellow card accumulation. Asprilla beats the defender with a little fake and then whips the ball to the far corner.

At first it seemed like the ball must have taken a deflection, the way it curved and bent in the air, but it was a clean strike and Asprilla just smashed the ball into the upper corner from a long ways out. All the young FC Dallas keeper could do was watch it go over his head. Asprilla whipped the soccer ball from a tough angle, too….take a look the Asprilla goal in the video below.
