The Irish Fans React to a Loss a Little Differently than the DutchI don’t know if it’s all about expections or a different culture, but the Irish fans certainly reacted differently to their loss to Spain compared to the Dutch fans when they lost to Germany. Sure, Ireland was just happy to qualify for the 2012 Euro tournament and certainly didn’t think they’d take much away from the game versus the World Cup champion Spanish side. At most, Robbie Keane might sneak a goal or they’d get to knock the ball around a little bit. For the Dutch fans though their expectations were quite high. Especially after losing in the World Cup final. They believed this was their tournament to win. Now however it looks like the Dutch will crash out of the tournament in the first round. |
