Picking up the ball deep in his own half, Pec showed his brilliance and strength, as he beat one defender, skipped past another, and then coasted by a third.

Despite Joseph Paintsil putting his hand up and shouting for the ball on the wing, Pec had a clear vision of what he wanted to do. His 70-yard run leads to a stunning goal, full of Brazilian flair and Ginga. It was a joyful display of skill, determination and speed.
Would be good to see these kinds of dribbling runs more often in soccer. Marta had a similar dribbling run recently. This though by Gabriel Pec is even better. Is it too much to say that this is kind of a Messi and Maradona like dribbling run? Probably so. But it is very good.
Pec played 35 matches, scoring 17 goals and contributing 16 assists for the LA Galaxy. His performance earned him the title of MLS Newcomer of the Year. He is just 23 years old. His soccer future is very bright to say the least.
Many are saying that he won’t be in the MLS for a long. You can see why after this dribbling run versus Minnesota.
Pec began his soccer career at Vasco da Gama in Brazil, where he developed through the youth ranks.
Max Bretos is right in saying Gabriel Pec’s form at least puts him in consideration for the Brazilian national team. And MLS has never had a young Brazilian super star like this. He should open the door for other young Brazilians to come to the league.
Moreover, the LA Galaxy scout who found Pec should get a raise. It will be fun to watch him versus the Seattle Sounders in the next round of the playoffs – the semi finals.
