Houston Dynamo Academy Players Train with Lionel Messi

Messi Playing with Houston Dynamo

That time the Houston Dynamo players met God. I’m curious to know what happened to all these young soccer players and if they made it to the Dynamo’s first team or not? One of the best players in the world they say about Messi….I think they mean the best player ever. I love the look on their faces though as they shake hands with Messi. Pure joy for the game and the chance to share the same soccer field as Messi.

The Houston Dynamo Academy U-18s started off their new season in pretty spectacular fashion: by training with the Argentina national team and Lionel Messi. Plus, if playing against Messi and Argentina wasn’t enough, afterwards, Messi even shook hands and gave out a few hugs to some of the academy players.

So I guess this means that Messi will play for the Houston Dynamo when he comes over to play in the MLS…don’t think so, but you never no. One things for sure though, these Houston Dynamo academy players won’t forget training with the Argentine players and meeting the greatest player to ever play the game, Lionel Messi.

For some older MLS academy players, it can be a thrill to train alongside professionals from time to time. Now training alongside Barcelona and Argentina megastar Lionel Messi? That’s an entirely different experience.

In the video above, some Houston Dynamo academy players got the thrill of a lifetime in hugging the world’s best player after a recent training session ahead of Argentina’s friendly against Bolivia at BBVA Compass Stadium on Friday. And as you can see, that momentary recognition from the legend meant the world to these kids.
